Job Description

Job Title: Entertainment Technical Manager
Location: The Heart of Europe Development (Island-based; travel by boat required)


Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Entertainment Technical Manager to oversee the technical aspects of our entertainment assets, events, and productions. The successful candidate will manage and coordinate technical operations, ensuring seamless execution of audio-visual, lighting, special effects systems, and other entertainment-related systems across The Heart of Europe Development.

This role demands an independent, self-driven professional with leadership capabilities to supervise technical teams while ensuring compliance with industry-level safety standards and technical specifications. The Entertainment Technical Manager will play a critical role in enhancing the overall quality and effectiveness of our entertainment experiences.


Responsibilities

  • Technical Planning & Execution:
    Plan, coordinate, and execute technical requirements for entertainment assets, live shows, events, and performances.

  • System Management:
    Oversee the installation, operation, and maintenance of audio-visual, lighting, special effects equipment, and other entertainment systems, including rain and snow effects.

  • Budget & Resource Management:
    Manage technical budgets and resources effectively, ensuring cost-efficiency without compromising quality.

  • Collaboration & Innovation:
    Collaborate with production teams to interpret technical requirements and provide innovative solutions.

  • Supervision & Coordination:
    Supervise technical crews during rehearsals and performances, ensuring adherence to timelines and protocols.

  • Equipment Maintenance:
    Conduct regular inspections and tests of equipment to ensure functionality and safety compliance.

  • Industry Trends & Upgrades:
    Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in entertainment technology to recommend upgrades or new equipment.

  • Troubleshooting:
    Troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely resolutions to minimize disruptions.

  • Safety Compliance:
    Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures related to technical operations.

  • Team Leadership:
    Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, providing mentorship and guidance to technical staff.

  • Proactive Assessment:
    Proactively assess all systems across The Heart of Europe development to ensure full functionality at all times.

  • Quality Enhancement:
    Assess existing systems to ensure they meet quality standards and provide proposals to enhance operations where necessary.


Requirements

  • Education:
    Bachelor’s degree in Technical, Entertainment Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • Experience:
    Proven experience in a similar role within the entertainment industry, with a strong technical background in audio-visual systems, lighting design, and special effects.

  • Technical Skills:
    Solid understanding of stagecraft, rigging, and theatrical production processes. Proficiency in industry-standard software and equipment (e.g., CAD software, lighting consoles, audio mixing consoles).

  • Leadership:
    Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate technical teams.

  • Project Management:
    Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.

  • Problem-Solving:
    Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

  • Work Flexibility:
    Ability to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on production schedules.

  • Safety Knowledge:
    Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in theatrical and entertainment environments.

  • Travel Requirement:
    Role is located on an island, so travel by boat is a requirement.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Education:
    Degree in Theatre Technology, Entertainment Engineering, or related field.

  • Certifications:
    Certification in relevant technical areas (e.g., ETCP Certified Entertainment Electrician).

  • Experience:
    Experience with multimedia and digital content integration in live entertainment settings.

  • Automation Systems:
    Familiarity with automation and control systems used in entertainment productions.
